2016-2017 SALT BID REQUEST
Hello to all!
Unfortunately, it’s that time of the year again – time to think about next year’s snow! Mother Nature was good to us this past winter, but she’s making up for it with the rain so far this season. I’m just thankful we didn’t get all this precipitation when it was colder!
We will be going out for bid soon for your salt requirements. I anticipate having the bids out on the street, and back into my office by mid June. If you are interested in participating in the bid this year, please have your information back to me by MAY 19, 2016. The bid will be structured the same as it has been in the past. We will include estimated quantities for each entity, and do not plan to put a cap on either end of that number.
Preliminary discussions with the vendors indicate prices this year may be about the same, although of course, nothing is set in concrete. As you are aware, the prices we receive depend on last year’s usage, available product, the current market, etc. Timing of the bid is also a critical factor, so we will need to receive your information quickly. PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS INFORMATION IS SHARED WITH THOSE ON YOUR STAFF WHO CAN RESPOND.
